Charlie's Entry

Nova's getting a lot bigger, and she wants to play a whole lot. She won't leave me alone. I like her. But sometimes I just want to push her out the door.

And the humans have tried so many kinds of dog food lately that I'm getting an upset stomach. I also ate tofu. Twice. Once, and then again after I puked it up. It tasted better the second time. The same thing happened with the hot dogs. Mmmmm, hot dogs.

As for Rudy, he's as slobbery as ever. We got to go for a walk toward the nearby national park. We saw a Very Big Rock. It was bigger than the truck! That's really big! And then, in the truck, I got to lick the windows.

I am wearing my coat. It's cold in the mornings now. My coat is red and it has my name on it and I like it because I look distinguished. If I had opposable thumbs, I would smoke a cigar with it and call it my smoking jacket.

Nova got to rip up a pillow. There were feathers all over everything. Including my jacket. She still has to be in her kennel every time the humans leaves the house. I can't watch her every moment.

Nova's Entry

As the Window Lickers spokesmodel, I get to participate in lots of Really Fun Things. Today, I had my picture taken by a Real Photographer! Her name is Katherine Lopez. I sat so pretty for her! Rudy and Charlie sat really pretty too, and I am really proud of them!

Our pictures will be in a magazine called GV Fauna, which is all about pets and animals like us!

Here is how you can order a subscription to Grand Valley Magazine and get the GV Fauna magazine too! This is my first appearance in glossy print and I am So So Excited!

The only thing I am sad about is that Peaches, our new kitty cat, didn't get to be in the picture with us. I am grooming him to become the Next Big Thing in window licking.

Love and Smooches,

Nova

Rudy's Entry

Our Chief of Security and friend Charlie passed on to his next life on November 1, 2014. Things are different without him here. He was very ill, and it was hard for him to stand on three legs to pee. Sarah is writing a book about him. I sit next to her while she writes it. Sometimes I drool or ask her to itch my butt.

I laid in Charlie's kennel at first when he was gone because it smelled like him. But it doesn't really anymore. His blanket is still in Sarah's office and Nova and I like to lay on it. It still smells like him a little.

Now, hardly anybody barks at the window, and it's so quiet.

Nova got a new bed but we don't like it so we mostly lay on the couch. We all got stuffed toys for Christmas, and I ate mine all up (it was a horse with a saddle and stirrups and everything), but Nova still has hers (it's a doe with a red hairbow) and nobody will let me touch it. They say "No! Rudy! That's Nova's baby! You are not allowed to have a baby because you ate yours! You are not a good babysitter, Rudy, you're not allowed! Drop it!" But I have rag toys to chew on instead.

There are tennis balls in a bag. Nova and i can see them hanging from the doorknob, but nobody let us have them yet.
